ALIKO AND THE KING

In a city engraved with creative brains and blessed with land nourished with the best of crops in the eastern part of the meridian, Aliko is the wealthiest man to have ever lived in the region. He is meek and blessed with a heart filled with so much benevolence. He is one of the most respected sage and his authority has vast influence across all boarders.

 

Intelligent economist around the world could not encompass Aliko's total worth as his wealth grows to a third of the world's total wealth and he gradually earns the spot as the richest man in the world and the most influential man in modern era.

 

With charitable works spanning the globe, Aliko's altruistic and noble personality could not be compared with any man in his generation. He distributes almost two-third of his wealth to various charities yet his wealth grows exponentially annually.

 

On a bright morning when fiscal activities were at its peak, news broke on media about a king who is more influential than Aliko. People were flabbergasted and stuck in awe on hearing the attributes of the king. The king's attribute was too overwhelming and surreal to man's fundamental reasoning, hence, the existence of such king was largely doubted and criticized.

 

Aliko's wealth, wisdom, mercy, kindness and good attributes is a similitude of a glass water to an ocean compared to the king's awesome attributes. 

 

People across the globe could barely believe the existence of any being that could be more influential than Aliko. " The sun shies away from Aliko and stars lustre at his presence. Kings pay homage and the world bows to his feet" were words exclaimed by the populace has the world unequivocally nullifies the rumour of a king who is greater than Aliko.

 

A group of elders respected in the community decided to consult an old sage named Aganga as regards rumours concerning the king which they believed was orchestrated by the enemies to put an end to Aliko's global influence. The old man wisely asked the elders what Aliko's response was regarding the king. The elders responded that Aliko never made any statement because he was not asked about the king. The old man advised the elders to meet with Aliko. He assured them that Aliko's perspective on the king would be true. The elders frowned at the idea of meeting Aliko because they believed it was disrespectful to Aliko's personality. After few deliberations, the council of elders decided to meet with Aliko. They were convinced Aliko would advise them truthfully considering his enviable attributes as a honest and kind man.

 

The council of elders met with Aliko with humility and salutations as they were ushered to the mansion by the attendants. Aliko welcomed them with kindness as he patiently listens to their request. The most knowledgeable and eloquent amongst the elders rose saying " Honour and glory to the man most kind and merciful in our land. He to whom no one could be compared. The kings bow to him in honour. The sun subtly shades its rays in his presence while the stars lustre with the best gaze recognizing his flawless nature. Wealth and wisdom are undeniably amongst his slave. Glory and honour to the most gracious man in our generation, Aliko. It is not befitting to your status to question the existence of any being greater than you, because we testify it is well with anyone than meets or dwells in your presence. Pardon us as we ask for clarification about the existence of a king which was rumoured to be greater than you. A kind which your blessings is not a fraction of his".

 

Aliko gently acknowledges the spokesperson eulogies and succinctly says " All praise and honour is not to me but the king that provides for me. You are right, a king exists on our land greater than me. He is the actual provider. I am his representative. I would introduce you to him by sunset tomorrow. I advise everyone amongst you to come with their request and the request of your people as you enjoy the mercy I have been blessed with.

 

The elders were bewildered as they sluggishly left Aliko's mansion. The elders agreed within themselves to keep their meeting with Aliko a secret till they meet the king the next day. The elders were engulfed with shades of emotions as greed overrode their logic. They were excited at the opportunity of been privilege to have a share of Aliko's secret and they fascinated about the enormous wealth coming to them. They could barely sleep at night as they concentrated in preparing a lengthy wish list all through the night.

 

The next day, the elders wore the best of their cloth. They agreed as a group not to reveal the source of their impending wealth to anyone. Some of them secretly formed another assembly to merge and dethrone Aliko immediately his wealth’s secret has been revealed to them.

 

On arrival, the elders though anxious wore a jaunty smile as they diligently sat in high cushions awaiting Aliko to reveal his secret king. They stare at the golden throne in the living room presuming the throne was the king's throne because it was not there in their previous visit.

 

Aliko walked into the room majestically alone. The elders stared at themselves with murmurs "he is here alone to introduce the king".

 

The elders rose as Aliko approached their midst. Aliko requests they should have their sit. He told them he is here to fulfil his promise of introducing them to the king who is the greatest and only source of his wealth. He promised them they would leave their palace with every request on their wish list granted. He urged them to kindly spend their wealth on the needy and contribute to the world by sharing the story of the king with everyone. This would allow everyone to enjoy the privilege. The elders nodded in agreement hypocritically.

 

Aliko request them to close their eyes as the King approach his throne. The elders smiled as they swiftly closed their eyes. After a suspense filled minute and myriad thoughts in the minds of the elders, a ray of light subtly lit on the elders. Most of the elders where glad as they await a turn around in fortunes. Aliko told them the King is on His throne. He told them to carefully meditate about their requests for a minute. The elders were seen shaking their heads as they are deeply engrossed ruminating on their wish list. Aliko asked them to open their eyes. The elders were astonished to find no king on the throne. They felt used, fooled and betrayed as they unequivocally accused Aliko of been a dishonest man.

 

Aliko said to them “Elders of our great land. I am not a dishonest man. I am kind and my goal of distributing everlasting wealth more on our land and generations after us is the reason I staged this meeting between us. I orchestrated the news about the king. Truly, there is a King but I was surprised majority of our people are not aware of His existence hence my idea to stage this event with the old sage Aganga to liberate our people.” Aliko told them the king is truly within their midst. He told them the king is the greatest, kindest and most merciful. Just as they see him as been merciful and they could testify that anyone who meets him in person would have his or her desires fulfilled so is the King he represents with more benevolence. He declares everything he has ever done as a manifestation of the message he was sent by the King. Aliko told them he is not different from them and capable of nothing except the King authorizes it.

 

The elders were still shocked as they await the king’s introduction. Aliko told the most intelligent and eloquent amongst the council to step forward. He told others to look at him as he introduces the King. He touched the man’s chest and told them the King dwells inside him. By now the elders have had enough as they proclaimed “how can the king dwell in their colleague’s body?” Aliko finally untie the puzzle by declaring the King as God. He said “God is your creator. Just like you trust me to cater for your needs, He is the only being that cater for needs. My wealth is His, and you have access to the same wealth I have through his kindness and mercy because he lives with you every moment of your life though you find yourself unaware because of your ignorance. Seek knowledge and wisdom and acknowledge His presence in your life as you look up to Him and not me. He would solve your problems and bless our nation with more milk and honey. Let my life remain a testimony to you to glorify the everlasting King and quit praising Aliko. Praise my King, your King, our creator who provides and protects without measure. Rise elders of our great land in faith and proclaim the story of the everlasting king to the world. He would not forsake you as you spread this good message and I pledge by the everlasting King’s grace that you shall come to me soonest testifying the King’s glory in your life and our land.

 

The elders were shocked as they left Aliko’s mansion marvelling.
