FREEDOM :A PLACID HOME
Let's take a look at the life of two men in a race. For ease in clarification, we would call the fist person Mr "A" while the second person would be addressed as Mr "B".
Both men were seen moving swiftly hoping to reach a destination.....
Mr "A" - an unarmed fragile looking man is seen chasing a hefty man about three times his size armed with weapons.
Mr "B" - a fully armed hefty man (twice the size of the hefty man chased by Mr "A") with sophisticated weapons that could destroy a dozen people in a split second is seen running with a very swift speed chasing nothing.
Who amongst both men do you think is more liable to have a successful journey?
Well, it's a food for thought for everyone. Anyways, here are my thoughts about both men.
Mr "A": Though he looks timid and fragile with the likelihood of being crushed whenever he succeeds in meeting the armed hefty man he is chasing, his journey is however purposeful but yet probabilistic. He could either succeed in defeating the armed hefty man if he probably acquires the skills and wisdom necessary and apt in his quest towards being heroic or he could end up being defeated if his preparation is inapt...
Mr "B': Strong and adorable. A warrior in the eyes of men, and feared for his arsenal of weapons. However, he embarks on a journey which seems real to him but unfortunately delusional. His journey is not purposeful and would only end when he runs out of energy to continue his race. A pitiful and delusional life of the great warrior.
The life of both men aforementioned is an exemplary of our journey on earth. We belong to either category during our life quest.
Below are my thoughts on the similitude of both men's journey in contemporary life.
The timid and unarmed Mr "A" is the man whom has identified freedom and peace of mind as the ultimate success and has prioritized it as the vanguard in his life goals. He is looking forward to attain success in his journey, but also identifies a snag that could either make or mar his ambition. The identified snag are life's spiritual, mental and physical turmoils which is illustrated by the armed hefty man in the previous narration. He understands that he needs to overcome the turmoils to achieve his goal.
During his life quest he acquires skills, knowledge, wisdom and other spiritual and intellectual tools needed to overcome his over-burdened and crafty foe.
At a designated time, he would catch up with his major bottleneck/foe which are the life turmoils, and either succeeds by defeating them through his acquired wisdom or he could be defeated if he relents on his effort in acquiring the wisdom needed to defeat his enemy.
Hence the man that belongs to the path of Mr "A"s life quest is fortunate to have a direction and also has an opportunity to make a purposeful life. However, his success is predetermined by his preparation for the battle with his identified foe.
The strong, adorable and exclusively armed Mr B's journey is synonymous to the life of an individual that assumes life luxuries as his ultimate goal. He acquires all the luxuries (illustrated by his weapons in the previous narration) needed to have an exclusive life as he embarks on his journey. However, as described in our previous tale, he keeps chasing very swiftly an unidentified foe. His luxurious accomplishments keeps increasing as he remains steadfast in a race pursuing an absent foe.
As explained in Mr "B"s story; we noticed that he was chasing nothing though fully equipped and prepared for a battle. He quits his journey by stumbling on his water-loo when he looses strength to continue his hard-fought race. Hence, the man on this path's ambition is to acquire life luxuries but he is oblivious to the fact that he is in a race chasing either a mirage or the wind. At some point his body becomes too weak to continue the race. He quits due to lack of strength and neither achieves his prime success nor a self-fulfilled life.
Life itself is an illusion though seems to be real...It's a fact that could be ambiguous with improper assessment. Whatever is real is time bound. Life's luxuries are not time bound. You keep having the urge and increased appetite to acquire more till the body becomes too weak to continue the race....It's nothing but vanity; a futile race.
We need to genuinely evaluate our path in life and reposition ourselves on the ideal path to avoid a futile tale like Mr "B".
I think success in life is not the measure of an individual's acquisition of material gains, but a self-fulfilled life through the acquisition of freedom and peace of mind.
I would like to infer by succinctly paraphrasing what freedom and peace of mind encompasses.
My personal suggestion is that freedom is in three folds..spiritual freedom, mental freedom, and financial freedom.
Spiritual Freedom is attained when an individual has humbly submitted himself and his life affairs to his creator.
Mental Freedom is best achieved when an individual has succeeded in controlling his mind through his intellect/intuition rather than being controlled by his mind.
Financial freedom does not necessarily requires you being the richest person in your neighbourhood, but rather practicing the act of contentment. It also requires being diligent and striving to be at one's best in any chosen means of livelihood.
An individual that has attained spiritual, mental and financial freedom would react to situations around him with utmost love, because peace would definitely have a place to dwell in his heart.
Freedom is a choice and the suitable home for peace to reside.... Won't you rather be free?
