DEMON INSIDE

Voice aches, heart beats at the sight of a tanned man with lofty eye balls and charming voice as he confides in me on a vital part of his life experience. His voice is a personification of eloquence and his charming captivating looks eludes an unquestionable aura. Ironically, he has symbols secretly embedded in some sensitive part of his body. These fetish symbols which do not correlate with his alluring looks raise an eye brow as he calmly explains the reasons for the symbols. He unbuttons his shirt as he secretly shows the sign of a demon embedded on his chest. My eyes are transfixed as I stare profusely. He quietly mutters, “That’s my demon and it makes me act right”…..

Guess, I can predict what could be running through your mind at the moment. It’s fair to conclude that the man could be devilish with his antics; but on the contrary he is a man with high moral standards….quite ironical, but it’s the ample truth because of the morals he gained from his emancipation from the “demon inside”.

“If you are genuinely holy and innocent, be the first to cast the stone”. Mind grips fear as no one could cast the stone. We live with so much doubts, fear, grief, and disbelief that often diverges our mind from the reality. We all live our life struggling for existence for different purposes, but the wise live their lives struggling to attain salvation. Some keep struggling to attain worldly gains and concentrate less on the need for salvation and also emancipate themselves from negative energies, while others had chosen not to allow the negative energies bond to their soul.

We claim to be just and holy, but a part of us irrevocably lives with covetousness, jealousy, greed, deceits, lies, depression, and hatred. Though we never intend to live with these unjust acts, a hidden saboteur lures us to been a hypocrite to our natural faith. The saboteur is the “demon inside” of us.
The “demon inside” tries to steal away our salvation and makes us not act right. Unknowingly, we are  unaware of its existence and we feel these acts are attitudes we can’t do away from even though we detest them.

The man I mentioned beforehand honestly paraphrased that the embedded demon on his chest exposes its existence to him every morning whenever he stares at himself on the mirror. He said the sight of these symbols on his chest reclines his soul towards just deeds, because he vowed that the “demon inside” in him would never have a space in his heart any longer. Comrades, “A problem admitted is half solved” so the sage says…now, the man affirmatively does not have any negative inclination to his soul, because the demon inside flee when it had no further control on him. Paradoxical, I guess? But the bitter truth is that we all experience and live secretly in this doom termed mind slavery. It’s never too late to be liberated from this mind slavery caused by the “demon inside” that seems to take away our salvation. The “demon inside” is the evil in us we despise.

Look into the mirror, and pledge to yourself that the “demon inside” would never gain control of you anymore.
